E a viagem chegou ao final..../ And the trip reached the end...

Good Evening all!

We are back to the civilization, but I wish we could go back to the middle of Negro River.
We spent a spectacular time, and I think that just the pictures can explain better what we lived over there…
I would like to REALLY thank all the students for the nice trip! Dri and Nininha…I’ll miss you!! I would also like to thank our Chaperone couple Enedir and Roberto (District 4620), for being really kind and nice with us and for helping us to take care of the students! And of course, a special thanks to Rotary International for giving us the opportunity to be in such an enjoyable mission, which is to show our wonderful BRAZIL to the exchange students!

I hope that you who have followed the Blog could live a little of this spectacular adventure that will surely stay in everyone´s memory!

Thank you very much for the attention! Hugs and see you in next adventure!!

Last Day of Amazon 2013 Trip

Dear Exchange Students,
AMAZON 2013 is ending today! It was an amazing trip! We met friends from all over the world and discovered a place on Earth many people still don’t know! We would like to thank you, exchange student, but also our coordination staff, suppliers and chaperones! For many of you, this was you’re last exchange trip before returning home – so we thank you and hope you have enjoyed our beloved country! For the ones just arriving in Brazil, keep tuned – Pantanal and Bonito and Northeast 2013 are ahead!
Best regards,
Terra Brasil Turismo.

E vamos para o barco.../And we are going to the boat...

Good Morning all!

We are at Manaus now!

As soon as we arrived at our hotel here, the exchange students were full of excitement: we're staying at the Manaus Tropical Hotel, a five star hotel with MANY options, including a wave pool, tennis court, duty free shop and even a mini zoo (where we could see jaguars)!!

On the days we spent here we visited the huge Amazon Opera House, Rio Negro Palace, made some shopping at the Municipal Market and went to CIGS, the army training center where a zoo with many endangered animals is located! We also visited INPA (National institute for Amazon research) and went to the mall to do more shopping!

Now we are ready to start our boat adventure: yes, we will pick up a boat now and stay there 5 days!!! We will sleep in hammocks (as the natives) and be able to really FEEL the AMAZON! We will visit some Indian communities, swim in Negro river and get to see the spectacular meeting of the waters: Rio Negro and Solimões, which together turns on the Amazon River. We will also have a survival course in the jungle, swim with the pink dolphins, wake up really early to see the sunrise, take pictures with many different animals…summarizing; we will live an adventure beyond imagination!!

Everybody ready????

In these days we won’t have internet or phone connection. I'll send more news/pictures as soon as possible.

Hugs and talk to you soon!
